Responsibilities

Job Description

The candidate will be expected to lead a team, analyse, design, plan, and develop code and unit test functions/modules of an application system. As critical, he/she works collaboratively with other members of the project team and the project manager to ensure under deadlines and high quality delivery of the application in line with customer’s business requirements.

He or she will be familiar and confident in performing the following roles as a member of a group of software engineers in a project:

• Analyze and design the function/modules of an application system that is being assigned
• Planning the development of the code needed to perform the function/modules using the BIS platform and an established framework
• Develop and unit test application code that will provide such function/modules according to the specifications using recommended process, standards and tools
• As appropriate, develop and maintain proper defined documentation necessary to maintain and support the application
• Participate in unit and integration testing, fixing defects, and tracking defects to closure
• Based on inputs and results from the system testing of the application, make corrected changes to application code to resolve defects uncovered
• Strict adherence and application of configuration management procedures for changes to application system
• Provide necessary support to other team members as required to help deliver systems on schedule and with high quality
• Provide accurate estimates of assigned software engineering tasks and report status according to project procedures
• Must be capable of leading a team and responsible for the delivery of the team
• Must be strong communicator and capable of interacting with onsite leads for gathering requirements, analysis and design and be able to guide the local team with the work.
• Will be expected to do a WBS and assign work to the team members.

Credentials & Experience

• Bachelor of Computer Science degree / MCA from a recognized University or College
• Must have minimum 5 years of experience in
o Data Warehousing products such as: Cognos 8 BI, Cognos ReportNet, Impromptu, Impromptu Web Reports
o OLAP cube development using Cognos PowerPlay and Transformer
o ETL development utilizing Informatica PowerCenter (Designer, Repository Manager, Workflow Manager, and Workflow Monitor),
• Strong SQL Knowledge (Oracle 10g/9i, PL/SQL and SQL.)
• Strong Skills in developing multi-dimensional models in Power play Transformer and building cubes, Implementing Security, Cube Groups, Views
• Design, develop and maintain Cognos Reporting solutions and PowerPlay (OLAP cube reporting) both for client and web versions of software.
• Extensive experience on production support and troubleshoot/test issues with existing reports and cubes.
• Experienced with Multiple Relational Databases including Oracle, MS SQL Server and DB2.
• Excellent knowledge on data warehousing concepts – Star schema, Snow-flake Schema and worked on both OLAP and OLTP databases.
• Must have strong communication skills and be capable of interacting with onsite leads.
• Prior experience leading/mentoring a team is preferred.
• Experience working in an organization with strong emphasis to Process and Standards is preferred.
