Job Description: Production Manager /Service Delivery Manager – Wintel Nordics: SO 0000120252

  • Provide overall leadership to the GIS Wintel offshore delivery team supporting Nordics and Europe geography.
  • This is a consultant calibre role, meeting onshore and client demands and needs
  • Manage and measure quality and process adherence of the delivery team
  • Manage a team of 50+ members of Wintel including Operating systems, Exchange, Vmware etc
  • Accountable of service delivery as per SLA/OLA’s of various projecs in Remote Infrastructure Management.
  • Manage day to day operations of the services rendered based on ITIL framework.
  • Act as a SPOC for clients for all aspects of service delivery.
  • Fortify relationships with clients and manage their expectations.
  • Motivate Manage Goals, periodic reviews, career aspirations of the service delivery personnel.
  • Escalate issues on time and strive for resolution of issues, identify root cause and eliminate problems.
  • Periodically review and update process documents, run books, standard operating procedures and keep them current.
  • Responsible for process improvements, productivity and efficiency gains.
  • Periodic reporting of operational metrics, business performance reviews and process maturity assessments.
  • Produce recommendations and develop high level plans with timescales.
  • Develop robust business continuity and DR plans for individual projects.
  • Ensure planned KPI’s of Nordics efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.
  • Liaising among different technology towers with in the GIS business unit for quality delivery
  • Manage all key stakeholder communication (Onshore and Offshore)
  • Optimize resource utilization by implementation of an effective delivery organization.
  • Ability to understand client’s issues / escalations and resolve within short period.
  • Manage the stakeholders and provide regular governance and reporting
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
  • Hands on experience in commissioning and decommissioning servers
  • Got to be a go after GURU for engineers when they run out of options/avenues.
  • Key stakeholder engagement for critical issue follow-up (lead and participate in concall bridge) and action items
  • Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through implementation of process and best practices.
  • Adhere Quality initiatives (GIS 2.0), CPO Initiatives (C2) and other similar organization wide initiatives.
  • Also be part of GIS Chennai group leads team.


  • Must have an engineering degree in any discipline from a reputed institution.
  • Must have 8-10 years of experience in IT INFRA industry with at least 3 years of service delivery in complex.
  • Ideally possess certifications experience in 2 of the following ITIL , SIX SIGMA, LEAN MANAGEMENT
  • Must have had prior hands on experience in atleast 3 of the infrastructure areas – WINTEL, MESSAGING/ UNIX/LAN/WAN/DATABASE/CITRIX/STORAGE/SERVICE DESK
  • Has completed 18 months in the current role and has manager’s concurrence to pursue this opportunity
  • Good knowledge of business continuity planning and disaster recovery practices.
  • Must have financial acumen, budgeting, reducing cost of operations, knowledge of CAPEX/OPEX
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse foreign, virtual and multi-cultural environments.
  • Able to work in an unstructured environment and bring structure to a problem, synthesize issues.
  • Has good knowledge of client services management and service level management
  • Experience in account management and areas such as SLA/OLA management, design and maintenance of account plan
  • Ability to think out of the box during difficult situations and come up with action plans
  • Assertive and possess excellent leadership and communication (both oral and written) skills.
